Gender-based violence is a global concern. The international community has just agreed to work towards the elimination of all forms of violence against all women and girls in the public and private spheres, including trafficking and sexual and other types of exploitation. That commitment adopted by the UN in the new Sustainable Development Goals, would not be achieved unless the situation of violence against women and girls with disabilities are taking into account.
