UNICEF estimated an increase in the number of Syrian children enrolled in formal schooling in Jordan from 42,098 in April to 82,232 in September 2013.22 This rose to 85,493 as of October 2013 according to the Jordanian government.23 In December 2013, there were an estimated 90,000 children out of school, of who 30,000 were eligible and 60,000 not eligible for formal education.
