تمثل حماية الأطفال ذوي الإعاقة من الإساءة مكوناً مهماً من مكونات هذا الدليل استناداً إلى أهدافه المأمول تحقيقها، والتى يأتى في الصدارة منها دعم مهارات المتعاملين مع الأطفال ذوي الإعاقة في اكتشاف حالات تعرضهم للإساءة، والتصرف حيالها، وقبل ذلك تعرف الحالات التى قد يتعرضون فيها لإساءة المعاملة، وتوجيه ممارساتنا نحن المتعاملين معهم للوقاية منها.
